Former jail employee accused of bringing in drugs to inmate

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. -- A former McCracken County jail employee is accused of supplying an inmate with drugs and was taken to jail recently. The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said on Wednesday, September 25, their office was contacted by Chief Deputy Stephen Carter with the McCracken County Jail about some narcotics found inside the jail. An investigation started and the sheriff's office accuses a former jail employee, identified as Gage Walker, 28 of Mayfield, of bringing in narcotics into the jail and giving them to an inmate. The sheriff's office said after starting the investigation, they found Walker and said he admitted to them he brought in the narcotics into the jail multiple times in exchange for money from outside sources. Walker was taken to the Marshall County Jail and faces a charge of Promoting Contraband 1st Degree.
The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are likely, the sheriff's office added.
